CBN LIFTS BAN ON CASH DEPOSIT OF DOLLARS, OTHERS



The CBN governor, Mr.Godwin Emefiele made the announcement yesterday, Monday 11th, 2016 in Federal Capital Territory that CBN has  lifted  the  ban on  cash deposit of dollars, and authorizing  that   the new  directive  takes effect immediately.Further  to  that, the CBN governor  accused  the Bureau De Change (BDC) operators of  being too greedy.He then ordered that foreign exchange should  not be sold to them and  that BDC should  source  their fund  from  an autonomous platforms.Emefiele stated measures will be put in place to ensure  that  no operator circumvent the  country's anti-money laundering laws, stating that the  CBN would  deploy more resources to monitor closely the sources of  foreign exchange by the Bureau De Change operators.
